Dear Miss Ruston,

Thank you for your letter of 16th May

about Mr. Colman.

As I advised you by telephone this morning, the Foreign Office have received a reply to telegram No.225 of 3rd May to the effect that Mr. Colman is very interested in your proposal but cannot discuss it until he returns on leave about the 15th July.

Under the circumstances I am asking the Foreign Office to gelegraph Baghdad about Mr. Cohen's short visit as it is just as well that Colman should have information about the Hongkong appointment to enable him to consider it before he returns to the U.K.

Miss Ruston,

Colonial Office,

LONDON.S.W.1.

Yours sincerely,

Amankreich
